Featuring a specialty ACQ-approved deck screw with a TORX ttap drive system, they deliver exceptional strength and durability. Unlike other hidden fastener systems, Cortex fasteners can be used across the entire deck surface, including stairs and perimeters, ensuring a consistent look throughout. They are compatible with all full-profile TimberTech deck boards except for scalloped boards from the Terrain, Prime, Prime+, and Reliaboard collections. Installation requires predrilling with a recommended 7/32” drill bit to pilot a hole halfway through the deck board without penetrating the framing. Please note that Cortex for PRO EDGE is not compatible with metal framing; for steel framing, separate Cortex Drillers from FastenMaster must be used.
